Australia: Rural and Fairfax merge OK'd

Shareholders of Australia’s Rural Press have approved the regional publisher’s merger with Fairfax Media, Australia’s largest newspaper publishing group.
The merge will create Australiasia’s largest integrated metropolitan, regional and rural print and digital media business, which will be worth $9 billion. Rural Press is Australia’s largest publisher of regional and agricultural news and produces about 160 newspapers and magazines in Australia and New Zealand.
The deal will go to Federal Court on Monday for final approval.

The IHT gave notice to anyone that wanter subscription to call the offices in Istanbul and Paris to get a subscription to IHT.
