US: Scripps Foundation Journalism Awards

The Scripps Howard Foundation announced the winners of its annual National Journalism Awards, honoring the best in print, Web and electronic journalism and journalism education for 2006.
The awards were open to all US news organizations and college journalism educators. Here are some:
INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING:
_Charles Forelle, James Bandler, Mark Maremont and Steve Stecklow of The Wall Street Journal for a series on the corruption of manipulated stock options.
WEB REPORTING:
_Washingtonpost.com was rewarded for "Being a Black Man," a multimedia project on African American males in the US, which made extensive use of narratives, photos, videos, chats, blogs and more.
PHOTOJOURNALISM:
_Rick Loomis of the Los Angeles Times for pictures illustrating stories about the war in Iraq, the degradation of oceans, bird flu and more.
