Axel Springer plans digital expansion, slight growth, for 2007
In 2006, net profit rose 26%, with stable sales of €2.37 billion.
Axel Springer registered record earnings for the third year in a row in 2006. This year’s earnings should be stable, or slightly higher at best, due to the multiple digital investments the company has made this year.
2007’s objective: “steadfast expansion with a focus on the digital business,” said Doepfner.
“We anticipate that, with launch costs for new projects remaining on a high level, our 2007 earnings in the existing business will be at the same level as in the past year if not slightly higher. However, we have a lot on the agenda for 2007,” he added.
