Paris: New Media Press Freedom conference

Managers and editors of prominent new media, such as Yahoo! and Korean online news Ohmynews, will meet at the conference ‘New Media: The Press Freedom Dimension,’ to be held in Paris on Feb 15-16. They will discuss how new media are promoting press freedom.
The event is organized by the World Press Freedom Committee, the World Association of Newspapers and UNESCO.
Speakers and participants include Neil Budde, General Manager of Yahoo, Oh Yeon-Ho, founder of Ohmynews, Rosental Alves, Director of the Knight Center for Journalism, Jean Lesieur, Deputy Editor of France 24 international network, Johann Fritz, Director of the International Press Institute, and many more.
The sessions will cover a wide array of topics relating to new media and press freedom, from new media in recently established democracies to digital broadcasting services, also including sessions about online news, participatory journalism, young readers, and more.
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English and French.
