UK: Paid for newspapers going free
The 44 page freesheet will be distributed between 5pm-7pm each weekday evening carrying local news and sport as well as some Daily Record stories. Advertising will be the same as the morning paid for edition.
Trinity Mirror has also announced that the Liverpool Echo will be free in the near future following the Manchester Evening News’ move to a freesheet in November 2006. Last year Associated Newspaper’s Evening Standard axed its lunchtime freesheet, Standard Lite, in favour of a new standalone freesheet, the London Lite.
