The Rajasthan Patrika is awarding $11,000 to a journalist based on the significance of a news story, resourcefulness and courage in gathering information, and skill in relating the story.
The award is to honour Karpoor Chandra Hulish, the proprietor and editor of Patrika, and his ‘unflinching courage, tenacity and perseverance’. He founded the local quarter size double-sheet evening daily in 1956 and developed it into a full-fledged newspaper with a circulation of 11.5million.
Nominees for the awards will be selected and proposed by a panel of jury consisting intellectuals of eminence. The Panel is being constituted. For more information on the Karpoor Chand Kulish Award [KCKA 2006] visit www.rajasthanpatrika.com/kcka2006

When it is said:
"But the biggest evil of blogs is that first flaw, blogging's original sin: the discounting of news-gathering in favor of news analysis."
This is one of the reasons people have been rejecting the media 'priesthood' as they have stopped news-gathering and have attempted to create the news.
Bloggers hate this contrived, pretend life, and expose it for what it is. All their whining about it won't change the way things are going.
