France: Le Monde and Bolloré free paper delays launch
Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on December 11, 2006 at 3:22 PM
The launch of the free paper jointly owned by the Bolloré group and Le Monde, has been postponed for at least one or two weeks. Since the freesheet’s publication was supposed to be interrupted during the holidays anyway, its first edition will probably wait until beginning of 2007.
Several organizational problems have divided participants from Le Monde and the Bolloré group. François Bonnet, who was initially in charge of the project, left because he thought Bolloré had taken control of the supposedly joint venture.
Symbolically, the initial name of the paper, NewsPlus, had to be abandoned because of copyright problems.

The copyright problems were with the still-in-beta PLUSnews.fr website. Seems that the free paper has given up the idea of the too similar title.
