UK: Press Gazette consortium fails
Posted by Allie Judson on November 24, 2006 at 11:29 AM
The Press Gazette may face closure after attempts to create a newspaper consortium have been abandoned. After loosing an average of £14,000 per issue the Press Gazette was hoping the consortium would help fund the magazine.
Group discussions ended late yesterday afternoon after newspaper groups including News International and Guardian News & Media declined joining. The main backer of the idea was the regional press group Tindle Newspapers.
