UK: Government plans to move current print classifieds online

Great Britain’s government is considering changing to online advertising for future job recruitment postings. The change could happen to both save money and reach a larger audience. Currently the government is responsible for 12% of print classifieds, moving online will leave a big hole in newspaper’s income. The Department of Trade and Industry plans on holding talks with affected publications to make the transition easier. Though most recently in the UK, the declining of print classifieds for online advertising is a continuing problem for the world market.
