UK: free print classifieds in the Times

Trying to boost its share of the auto ad market, The Times is offering free print and online ads to readers trying to sell cars. Users will be able to post one ad a quarter and will be able to add some online bells and whistles to their classified for a price.
Free print ads will consist of two lines and direct seekers to the Times website, which the Times hopes will "develop the relationship between the newspapers and Times Online."
Free online ads are nothing new (see Craigslist), but transferring them to print is an innovation that could catch on.
