US: Yahoo updates website homepage
A new redesigned front page for Yahoo is under works. The new design would make its search features higher on the page and puts the most used features in the center. Also, larger icons of popular features, such as Yahoo mail and Yahoo messenger, will appear along with making localized features more prominent on the page.
"Yahoo is keenly focused on creating the most innovative, easy-to-use and valuable products for our users as their needs evolve," said Meagan Busath, Yahoo spokesperson.
Yahoo is currently in the process of developing a “comprehensive program for commercial access and tools,” said Ash Patel, chief product officer for Yahoo. "We firmly believe that by letting third-party developers build applications on top of Yahoo that ultimately our users will benefit," he said.
Newspapers may want to consider striking deals with search engines and news aggregators such as Yahoo in order to capitalize on the personalization features that are becoming increasingly popular for online news readers.

Dear Features Editor-
Love Yahoo- Have used your service forever.I
am a mortgage consultant with HUGE twist. I have availed myself to my clients, families and friends as their "counselor" with issues ranging from family, finance and investments all the way to dating, divorce and involving the DCFS to protect children. I receive over 21 letters and emails per week from Chicago-lands best citizens, both young and old. I have archived all of these communications. These letters are amazing, and most will astound you, and reveal the need for my column on the Yahoo Website--ASK PAUL B.
Imagine a constant Q and A to the next coming of Ann Landers--I have the wit, the sage advice (credentials support this), and the passion to help people. I am Paul B.
