US: blog search engine wins prestigious web award

Weblog site Technorati, a self-styled search engine for weblogs, won the best-of-show award in the South by South West Interactive Festival (SXSW). In an annual event that showcases and awards the best in emerging web development, design, blogging, wireless innovation, and new media entrepreneurs, Technorati was the judges favorite in the competition.

Technorati currently tracks 30.5 million weblog sites and 2.1 billion links. Out of 16 different categories, Technorati took the most prestigious award in the increasingly significant award festival

Technorati also won the technical achievement award for “sites that are re-inventing and re-defining the technical parameters of our online experience.”
