US: poll finds confidence in newspapers at all-time low

In its most recent annual survey of “public confidence in major institutions” in the US, Gallup found that public trust in newspapers and television news has reached an all-time low, reports Editor and Publisher. According to the poll, confidence in newspapers has declined from %37 to %28 since 2000. Of those surveyed, 24% said they have “very little” confidence in newspapers. But 46% said they have “some confidence” and 28% had “strong confidence” in newspapers.
