Korean newspapers impose time restrictions on web portals

On June 20, the Korean Online Newspaper Association reached an agreement that prohibits Internet portals from posting news content for more than a week after the stories were initially provided.  Due to this new agreement, Internet users looking for older news stories will have to search on newspaper sites for specific articles

South Africa: Press organizations joining fight against press restrictions at sporting events

In a statement yesterday, Print Media South Africa (PMSA) and the South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) came out against the International Rugby Board (IRB) and the Australian Football League’s (AFL) attempts to restrict media coverage of the Rugby World Cup and the Australian Football League games this year.
