Holland: Newspapers slow to adopt online revenue streams

In a surprising business move the Dutch bank Rabobank has purchased "Google for house searches" zoekallehuizen.nl, an online real estate site. As they have been across most of the Western world, online classified sites in Holland have contributed to the decline of classified revenues in newspapers.
The Dutch media, which has adapted slowly to changes brought on by the Internet, has ignored the growing interest in on-line involvement and advertising over the last 25 years. This deal has been an alarm to the media community reminding them that if they don’t keep up with the times other sectors and businesses with financial capabilities will.
