UK: Nielsen launches service to measure online audiences

Nielsen/NetRatings today launched SiteCensus Streaming, a service which should provide comprehensive, accurate measurements: how many users are viewing online video and audio and how much is actually consumed.
The system will help advertisers and publishers gauge what viewers are actually doing on sites. The system also identifies a user’s location, as well as the operating system and browser being used. It could also help advertisers decided where to place ads to be most effective.
The World Association of Newspapers recently launched an initiative to establish global standards for print and online readership via new measurement tools like SiteCensus.
