NYT launches Times Wire to show latest news

There is a tab for all news, one for business and technology, and a personalisation possibility: a 'Your News' tab for which readers can choose their own topics of interest. The stream updates automatically. A selection of photos from the articles listed appear in a section to the right of the stream, which readers can click on to access the stories.
This sort of service is clearly more useful for breaking news than for older stories, but alternative ways of reading news that take advantage of the possibilities offered by the Internet seem to be an appropriate step forward, and it will be appreciated by readers read the site regularly and are only interested in what is new. Newspaper readers are becoming more and more accustomed to getting the latest news fast, and this will certainly them do that.
