One of the ten Canwest newspaper websites to be redesigned is the Calgary Herald. The Herald has geared themselves towards becoming an online multimedia destination.
In addition to a new look, they have added and improved their content. According to the paper's website, the "changes are deeper than just the look of the calgaryherald.com home page."

Over the last year they have been restructuring the Herald's newsroom in order to keep up with their "rapidly growing digital audience" and become the "city's first true multimedia news organization." The Herald has added more video that is produced by both the paper and a local television partner, Global.
According to the paper's website, their number one mission was to prioritize breaking news and information times, in real-time and with a Calgary perspective.
The paper has also made an effort to link more to the print version. In addition, "reader-submitted content takes center stage" on the new website.
