Sony Ericsson is jumping on the mobile application bandwagon, making Facebook, Windows Live and Dashwire available for download on its multimedia phone the Xperia X1.
The phone provides opportunities for users to "interact with their personalized experiences, and for developers to help bring them to life," said Ford Davidson, founder and CEO of Dashwire. The Xperia X1 has been built on a "custom panel."

Sony Ericsson's new partner, Microsoft, built the Xperia X1 on Windows 6.1 operating system, which is a new Windows Live application that allows users to "sync their existing contacts and features to their phones."
The 'Panel' feature for Facebook offers unique functions, available for download on the Sony Ericsson site.
Dashwire "backs up mobile content such as photos, videos and texts in its 'cloud' database," is also available for the Xperia model. With this application, users can access and share mobile content from any computer.
Sony Ericsson is also encouraging the creation of new applications for the Xperia X1 through independent developers, holding a competition for the best product, Brand Republic reports.
