The Chicago Tribune Media Group is expanding its mobile classifieds initiative by launching Automart QuickFind, a new service that sends out detailed information about specific cars to users' mobile phones.  Chicago Tribune Interactive Vice President Joe Farrell said the move might harmonize the link between the company's online, mobile and print content.
"We are constantly looking for new ways to engage our readers across multiple platforms," said Kurt Mueller, senior manager of classified products. "Based on the success of our recruitment product, car listings were the next most logical classified vertical to expand into mobile."

Automart QuickFind permits users to send an sms containing a unique code for a car featured in the Chicago Tribune's Saturday Automart section, after which they will receive data such as photos, the dealer's contact information and driving instructions.

Previously, the group launched the Careerbuilder QuickFind, operating similarly for job listings included in the paper's Tuesday's Business section and free daily RedEye. The group also intends to launch the same feature for real estate listings.
