US: Sporting News launches "daily digital sports newspaper"

A "daily digital sports newspaper" is to be released starting from next Wednesday. The US newspaper Sporting News plans to launch Sporting News Today, an online version that will be e-mailed to subscribers every morning, reported Media Week.
Although ads won't be featured until the subscribers increase significantly from the current 30,000 or so people, the digital paper will include video ads, "half-page" newspaper-like ads and IAB units, Media Week wrote.
The digital paper will deliver news content with the help of digital magazine company Texterity's technology. It resembles the look of a traditional one, but blends Web tools like navigation.
"The content is built into pages, which is way different than having to go here to here to there to read what you want," said publisher Edward Baker.
