Content creators and distributors moving towards aggregating news?

Jupiter Research analyst Barry Parr wrote a report earlier this month on the best practices in network media for news organizations, a key point discussing the aggregation of news. He believes that content creation and distribution sites should be treated as separate businesses. Their destination sites should aggregate and integrate content and services from other sources,  moving away from traditional non-aggregated news.

This seems to have been a trend as an increasing number of newspaper websites has started to link back to other sources, becoming indexes to relevant information instead of being solely content providers.
