Editor & Publisher has compiled a list of the top 30 most popular news sites in the US in January. NYTimes.com is still on top with more than 20 million unique visitors. Newsday had one of the biggest year-over-year growths, up 59.2% in uniques, ranking ninth (down from fourth in December).

Among the other news sites that were successful in 2007, political Web-mostly publication Politico increased its year-on-year traffic by 250%, up to 2.3 million uniques (1.6 million the previous month).
