UK: Press Association taps Attributor to track online content

The Press Association, the national news agency of the UK and Ireland, has announced a partnership with Attributor Corporation in which Attributor will provide web-wide visibility and usage analysis of The Press Association’s online content.

Attributor, whose text-monitoring technology was officially launched in November 2007, is a web-based content tracking and analysis platform that enables publishers to coordinate and monitor how their content is displayed across the web and on social networks.

According to a Press Association press release, the agency intends to employ Attributor’s analysis of the consumption of their content on the web to both tailor their offerings to existing online audiences, and to pursue new commercial relationships with previously overlooked sites that would be interested in PA content.

“Understanding how and where content is being reused is vital to the success of any company publishing online,” said Chris McCormack, head of digital development at The Press Association. “Attributor’s system allows us to monitor where our content is going and in what context it is being used.”

Other Attributor clients include Reuters and the Associated Press.
