Reuters to supply FT.com with news video
Reuters, which already provides photos, world news and business news to the website, will now deliver its home-produced video news to be put online.
Those news videos, up to 15 a day, will come in addition to the 100 in-house financial news videos produced by the Financial Times website per month.
FT.com said its video content is playing an important part in the newspaper’s overall growth online.
“The Reuters clips, usually about 60 seconds, will cover breaking news from around the world, political and general news, human interest stories and show business reports,” according to the Guardian.
Gary Williams, head of media sales at Reuters, said the video news partnerships demonstrated the agency's and FT.com's "commitment to providing the most powerful readership with the most powerful information." The deal also strengthens the position of the Reuters agency as the major data provider of FT.com.
