News Corporation and NBC Universal have yet to launch their US online video site, Hulu, in beta right now. However, the launch in the UK is already being planned. Hulu is to rival prominent online video content providers.

As of now Hulu is not saying much about launch of the site outside of the US. However, according to a former NBC executive, Hulu will soon be launched in the UK. The former executive said, “It’s on the roadmap for sure, although the rights issues are obviously a challenge. If they can clear these hurdles, then they will.”

Hulu will provide content from MGM, E!, Sony, and National Geographic. The site is a free service supported by ads. It is said that Hulu will rival Joost for the online video sector’s strongest professional content offering and at least match the success of YouTube.  Hulu will also compete with sites such as ITV.com and 4oD whose content is mostly of UK origin.
