Kenya: reporters going mobile

Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on November 23, 2007 at 1:54 PM
Thanks to the Voices of Africa project, supported by the Africa Interactive Media Foundation and citizen photojournalism site Skoeps, four young Kenyans have become mobile reporters.

Each reporter is equipped with an advanced mobile device, a portable keyboard and telephone credit. The reporters file all kinds of media, including text, photos and video, uploaded through their mobiles.

After the Voices of Africa project was piloted in several African countries, the project is starting to gain momentum in Kenya. The end goal is to equip reporters with mobile capacity in all African countries.
