US: NY Times publishes a video Letter to the Editor
Bremer was the former head of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and had justified his decision to disband the Iraqi Army in his article.
Ferguson’s video letter, the first such video published by the Times, presented arguments claiming Bremer had misled readers in his piece.
Andrew Rosenthal, editor of the Editorial Page, said that Ferguson had originally sent a text letter.
“In the course of discussions with him, he said he would like to use clips from his film on the Web site and that led to further discussions and it was his concept to package it as a letter to the editor,” said Rosenthal.
This editorial innovation connects with the words of Times deputy managing editor Jonathan Landman, who said in a memo that online storytelling processes are becoming rich enough that it is no longer necessary to read the text articles.
"It is an amazing use of the Internet. This is what the Internet is all about," said Rosenthal.

If you do your own research, there is no ethical reason why credit must be given to whoever "broke it first." TV and radio take story ideas from newspapers all the time. Get over yourself.
