Google News experiments with YouTube videos

Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on August 24, 2007 at 9:42 AM
According to journalism.co.uk, Google News is experimenting with YouTube videos from some of its content partners, including Reuters, Hearst and CBS.

Links to videos appear under the Google News headlines and directly open the YouTube player on the news page, theoretically putting an end to compatibility problems.

The test programme is currently only available in the US, UK and Ireland.

If Google News is giving a tug at video, it’s probably a hint that newspapers – whether Google fans or not - should be pushing for it even harder.
