Engaging youth with YouTube

Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on August 27, 2007 at 10:53 AM
The LA Youth newspaper, which is written for teens and by teens, has posted a new video on YouTube. Something to consider for newspapers seeking young readers.

While the paper, with its specific target, can certainly devote more attention and resources to this kind of product compared to other newspapers, this is a worthwhile strategy for papers.

Of course, posting on YouTube would imply ‘losing’ some traffic. But what if the video is viewed by users who wouldn’t go to the newspaper website in the first place, and draws some attention to the brand name?

Have a look.
