UK: Multimedia looms large in UK newsrooms
Multimedia changes continue to pop up daily in UK newsrooms. The most recent wave includes a name change at The Guardian group and a new multimedia hire at the Telegraph.
The Press Gazette reports that the Guardian Newspapers has changed its name to better represent its range of media. The group that comprises The Guardian, Observer, and Guardian Unlimited is now Guardian News and Media. The Guardian has joined newly titled Times Media (formerly Times Newspapers) and the Telegraph Media Group.
The Telegraph Media Group has engaged Shaun Gregory as its development director, announces Brand Republic. Gregory is a former managing director of national brands at Emap Radio, where he was instrumental in making Magic 105.4 London’s number one radio station. Gregory will help expand the Telegraph’s online, broadcasting, and mobile operations. He is expected to take part in the Telegraph’s planned move into online video news.
