The 2006 World Cup begins Friday in Germany, and with it, a new era in sports reporting — one combining the latest technological trends and reader involvement. Both the New York Times and International Herald Tribune Web sites will feature live blogging and daily video footage as part of the Times’ coverage of the event.
In addition to traditional statistics, standings and match information, FinanzNachrichten said the papers’ up-to-the-minute coverage will include multimedia features, video casts, reader commentary and blogs from NYT reporters and columnists, IHT editor at large Roger Cohen and fans.
