Collaborative blog project discusses media issues
Said Gloria Pan, the center's communication director, "What we’re trying to do is replicate The Media Center experience at our real-world events, where issues and ideas are examined from a cross-sectoral perspective, allowing those sectors to learn from each other and uncovering new insights. Since most people can’t make it to our events, we’re trying to create a forum where everyone gets to participate in “The Media Center Conversation,” a thoughtful, serious exploration of what it means to live in the Digital Age - how it’s changing the way we live, the way we do business and how we perceive and engage the world."
Presently the conversations are:
We Lead: Public Policy & Politics, moderated by Brian Reich, Senior Strategic Consultant, Mindshare Interactive Campaigns
We Live: Behavior, Trends & Culture, moderated by Judy Faber, Senior Format Manager for Launch Radio, and also known as Little Judy, founder of La Musica
We Influence: PR & Marketing, moderated by John Bell, Creative Director, Ogilvy PR
We Imagine: Narrative & Technology, moderated by Florian Brody, Director of Marketing for Amazon’s search engine, A9.com
We Inform: Journalism and Values, moderated by Joan Connell, online editor of The Nation.
The Media Center is always looking for new ideas and topics of discussion. If you have an idea for a new conversation, feel free to send your proposal to Gloria at gpan@mediacenter.org.
