The UK's Press Gazette reports that The Wall Street Journal is hosting a series of events with a tech theme in Shoreditch, East London, for three days from 12 September.

The Knight Foundation has launched its Knight News Challenge: Mobile, which is "seeking innovative ideas that harness mobile technology to inform and engage communities." The related press release states: "The application process is simple – answer eight questions on the newschallenge.org Tumblr by noon EST Sept. 10. Winners will receive a share of $5 million in funding and support from Knight Foundation’s network of influential peers and advisors to help advance their ideas."
