So much is said nowadays about the death of print - but it's not all bad news. Print still has its loyal followers.

Roy Greenslade of The Guardian has been covering the plight of one publication in particular, The Irish Post, which went into liquidation last month but whose demise has been met with cries of dismay from a its community.

The Irish Post is based in London and acts as a voice for the British-Irish community. The paper was deemed so important an asset to the irish population living in Britatin that West Tyrone Sinn Fein MP Pat Doherty expressed about the detrimental effect of closing a weekly newspaper that had been such "an important and invaluable link between the Irish diaspora in Britain, and more widely, with Ireland".

The all-party parliamentary group on the Irish in Britain, chaired by Labour MP Chris Ruane hel a community meeting yesterday to debate what could be done to prevent the closure of The Irish Post. The early day meeting at The House of Commons has been rapidly gaining support and signatures - so there may be hope to save The Irish Post yet.
