The Wall Street Journal will publish two special editions in February and May, after the inauguration editions on January 20th and 21st, focusing on Barack Obama's impact on the economy.
The first special edition, The Obama Agenda, will be published in February and will analyze the new administration's budget. The second will be The First 100 Days, published on Thursday, May 7. According to the WSJ this edition will "apply its insightful reporting to the first 100 days of the Obama administration and its impact on global economy and business."
According to Robert Thomson, Journal managing editor and editor-in-chief of Dow Jones & Company, "The new President will take office at a time of economic and political upheaval. There is no doubt that Government is playing a more important role in the national debate and it is crucial that the implications of that role be understood. The Journal will chronicle this crucial phase in U.S. history with unrivaled objectivity, depth and style. Anyone who does not read the Journal will, by definition, be badly briefed."
The WSJ is also planning increased coverage on their website for the inauguration.
