The Huffington Post's recently launched World News page will contain content from "editorial partners with correspondents in more than 50 countries" including "foreign policy experts and advocates," according to Media Bistro.

Arianna Huffington believes that, "As the recent Mumbai attacks made so painfully clear, the international community is now more interconnected than ever, and readers around the world are keen to know what's happening beyond their borders."

Media Bistro is reporting that some of the bloggers participating in the launch are Queen Noor of Jordan, John Kerry, Joesph Nye, Haleh Esfandiari, Yoani Sanchez, Daoud Kuttab, Francisco Toro and Oleg Kozlovsky.

In addition, the World section will include content from partner site, GlobalPost.com which is set to launch on January 12, 2009.

The section will also cover arts, literature, music and film from around the globe. It will feature a weekly World Music Corner that will highlight musicians and musical trends around the world.

James Smith, chief revenue officer of The Huffington Post stated, "HuffPost's affluent, educated and curious audience has long expressed a great interest in more global coverage. With the new World vertical, we're giving them more of what they want. The section also enables us to continue to appeal to select marketers interested in a sophisticated environment in which to convey their messages."
