US: Eureka Reporter shuts down presses

As of November 8, The Eureka Reporter will cease to exist. It will continue to have its editorial pages published in rival paper, Times-Standard on Wednesdays and Sundays.

According to a press release by the paper; "Times have been difficult for the newspaper industry nationally and many fine papers have had to close their doors. It is difficult for a small community like Eureka to support more than one daily newspaper."

The Reporter was founded in 2003 and earned credibility for its editorial voice, local news coverage, photography and design excellence.
