The New York Times will launch an online feature for the November 4th U.S. presidential election.
The feature will provide readers access to election results and even a look inside The Times' newsroom using interactive graphics.
It will also feature a pop-up dashboard with up-to-the-minute electoral vote results. Every 30 minutes Times reporters will deliver video reports from their newsroom.
In addition, the election night coverage will include live results of the races, changes and tallies from the electoral map, county-level maps of each state with results, links to The Caucus blog, breaking news alerts, text message alerts and shortcuts for Blackberry devices to get updates on the mobile.
According to Jim Roberts the associate managing editor for The New York Times, "we will be covering this historic event with an array of online and mobile tools that will provide our readers with a combination of up-to-the-minute results, detailed county-by-county analysis, and the reporting and insight of the best political reporters in the nation. This has been the first presidential election cycle in which we have fully integrated The Times's political coverage across print, the Web and our mobile platform, and the fruits of that collaboration will be on full display Tuesday night."
