Eastern European journalists teaming up to shine light on organized crime

Several eastern European new organizations are collaborating together on the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) to help people living in the region better understand how organized crime impacts their lives.

Participating organizations include the Center for Investigative Reporting in Sarajevo, the Romanian Center for Investigative Journalism, and Bulgarian Investigative Journalism Center, as well as journalists operating in Montenegro, Albania, Moldova, Ukraine, Macedonia and Georgia.

The site has investigative stories and breaking news on criminal activates in the region likely to affect inhabitants. Plans are in the pipeline to make official documents related to organized crime available online as well.
