US: Sun-Times Media Group names new CEO

The Sun-Times Media Group Inc. has announced board member and one time CEO of the formerly named Hollinger International Inc., Cyrus Freidheim, as the new chief executive Wednesday.
Freidheim follows Gordon Paris who goes on trial in March for fraud and racketeering due to allegations that he took millions of dollars from the company.
Plans for the new chief executive involve spending cuts and fast-paced changes that will supposedly help the Sun-Times’ newspapers which have been feeling similar pains to the rest of the industry. As of right now the group plans on closing down their New York office by the end of the year.
