UK: Culture mag recruits youth staffers

A new UK youth culture magazine will be asking its young readers for help. Catch-22 will be recruiting 40 students to work on the production staff of the quarterly magazine.
10 students will work on a voluntary base to create the magazine in return for knowledge and industry connections. The pilot edition of the magazine of the paper, set to launch in 2007, has sections discussing travel, social commentary, politics, music, sports, and fashion.
The creator, Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa, is hoping to attract students of all different backgrounds to the project. “Rather than trying to pigeonhole those that may fit into a neat ‘not in education, employment or training’ [category]” said Ajasa-Oluwa, “we like to have a mixed bag of people, because we think the output will be a lot more meaty."
