Russia: Murdered journalist’s last article published
Novaya Gazeta, the newspaper murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya worked for, recently published the article she was working on shortly before she was shot to death.
In the report, Politkovskaya accuses Chechen security forces of fabricating terrorism prosecutions and torturing prisoners. “Criminal cases are being cooked up like pancakes” she writes.
The paper has recently been dedicating a lot of coverage to the reported torture of Chechens, publishing interviews and images, some of which were taken from Politkovskaya investigations.
Novaya Gazeta claims to hold evidence about the journalist’s killing, and to be collaborating with prosecutors for a faster solution o to the case.
