Italy: La Stampa brings new design on tour

Posted by Elena Perotti on October 16, 2006 at 10:58 AM

Starting on November 19 Italian daily La Stampa will change design. In order to have its public get familiar with the new paper, the Turin daily prepared a bus hosting an exhibit that will tour for a month in the main cities of the North East of the country.

The new La Stampa will publish all images in color, and the format will switch to tabloid. The Piedmont paper ran a survey among its readers in recent months, and found that its local section, different in every province, is particularly appreciated. That is why that part of the paper will have an enhanced foliation. La Stampa claims that the news will be covered more in depth, and that summaries of the day’s most important stories will be provided.

The bus that starts its tour today, hosts an exhibit of the historic first pages of the paper, covering news like the murder of J.F. Kennedy, or the election of Pope John Paul II. Visitors will be offered the trial issue, “edition zero”, of the new La Stampa.
