US: Chicago Sun-Times goes hyper-local

The Sun-Times News Group is combining its 98 local news websites into one portal for the greater Chicago area. The group's new subdivision, STNG Online Network, will cover 120 communities around the Windy City providing the latest news for each while allowing easy access to news of other communities within the network.

Fred Lebolt, Vice President of New Media for STNG, said, "For visitors to our sites, our Network allows us to deliver both the helpful, local content for which we are relied upon as well as broader news in a way that is easy and convenient to access."

The Chicago Sun-Times presently has one of the top 10 newspaper sites visited in the United States.
