Russia: Medvedev to chair broadcast commission
Touted as one of the two Russian presidential candidates for 2008, First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will soon take on a different role: chairing a new state commission on the development of television and radio broadcasting in Russia. Finding ways to coordinate the executive’s broadcasting activity, improve legislation in the sphere and develop television and radio will be the commission’s primary tasks, according to news and information agency RIA Novosti.
