Israeli cartoonist Amitai Sandarovich has organised an anti-Semitic cartoon contest that only Jews are allowed to enter. The competition is designed to rival an Iranian Holocaust cartoons competition launched by Hamshari, Iran's biggest daily (see previous posting). Sandarovich made the following statement about the contest: "Our response to violence bad taste and mediocrity is self derision and black humour ... I believe Jews are best placed to laugh at themselves. No Iranian can compete with us on that."
The competition will be open until March 3rd. The best entries will receive prizes and will be exhibited in Tel Aviv.
