Borneo: Sarawak Tribune newspaper suspended for re-printing Mohammed cartoons

Borneo's English daily Sarawak Tribune has been suspended indefinitely by the government for re-printing, on 4, February 2006, the infamous Mohammed cartoons that have caused outrage amongst Mulims worldwide. Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak asserted the decision to suspend the paper would send a strong message that religious mockery will not be tolerated in Malaysia, he said: "We will protect the sanctity of any religion against such irresponsible action."
