UK regional newspaper publisher Northcliffe Newspapers, to be sold by Daily Mirror and General Trust (see previous posting), is set to initiate an employment reorganisation initiative at its Western Newpapers division. The jobs reshuffle is part of the 'Aim Higher' money saving plan launched by management, and could cost up to 10 newsroom jobs.
Western Newspapers publishes 1 paid for daily, 8 paid for weeklies and 10 free weeklies, with a combined circulation of over 432 000 copies a week.
