The best qualified person to be superintendent of schools is right here in river city! The new Duval County Superintendent of Schools should be Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nancy Snyder. Dr. Snyder serves directly under John Fryer; she held the same position under Dr. Zinke. When Mr. Fryer was recuperating from his recent surgery, Dr. Snyder ran the school system.
Dr. Snyder is thououghly familiar with the needs of the school system. She would not have to take a year or so to get oriented to a new situation.
She would hit the ground running!
As a retired Duval County school psychologist, I know Dr. Snyder to be very bright, personable, competent, a tough, very strong leader, and eminently qualified to lead our school system.
Before we start an expensive, time-consuming nationwide search, we need to remember that the new superintendent does not necessarily have be be from some place else.

Hello Mr. Editior
My name is sara and I have been trying to look for a way to contact the union using via email with no luck. So, although this is most likely not the way things should be done, this is the closest I've yet gotten to speak with a person who can make my dreams come true. I am an aspiring journalist and photographer. One day soon I hope to write in the sports or current events column for the times union. But, I cant seem to ever get in contact with anyone. I would really like to know if you had any advice for me on where I can contact someone who can help me reach this goal in my life. I have attended writing schools by audition and acceptance and have been writing for well over 8 years. Its not all that much...but Im only 13. So please help me. I need to speak to someone soon.
